Advancing Imaging Together
for Patient Care
From Guadeloupe to Orsay and Nancy, AVELION collaborates with imaging centers and research institutions to deploy cyclotrons, microfluidic synthesizer and radiopharmaceutical. These partnerships enable on-site radioisotope production, support clinical and preclinical research, and accelerate access to innovative diagnostics and therapies, strengthening patient care and the development of personalized.
CIMGUA: The first cyclotron in the Carribean Islands
CIMGUA (Molecular Imaging Center of Guadeloupe) is the first molecular imaging center opened in 2028 in the Caribbean equipped with an on-site 12 MeV cyclotron and a PET scanner, enabling local production of radioisotopes and daily PET imaging for patients. Designed, manufactured and installed by AVELION, the cyclotron allows the center to produce short half-life radiotracers such as ¹⁸F-FDG, ¹⁸F-Choline and ¹⁸F-PSMA, ensuring full autonomy for up to 26 patients per day. By providing local access to advanced molecular imaging, CIMGUA has significantly improved equity of access to care for patients in Guadeloupe, eliminating the need for travel to mainland France and strengthening cancer diagnosis, follow-up and future theranostic developments in the region.
CEA-SHFJ : 1st iMiGiNE System commissioned
AVELION and the CEA-SHFJ in Orsay have built a long-standing strategic partnership to deploy the iMiGiNE platform in 2020, the result of nearly ten years of close collaboration supported by Bpifrance.
The CEA is a key player in research, development and innovation in four major areas: energy transition, digital transition, technology for future medicine and defense and security. The CEA conducts fundamental research in the fields of biotechnology and health, physical sciences, earth sciences and astronomy, physics and nanosciences. Its main objectives are the production and publication of knowledge and expertise at the highest international level. In 2019, nearly 3,800 scientific articles were published by CEA researchers, three-quarters of which were the result of international collaboration.
The SHFJ (Frederic-Joliot Hospital Service) is a molecular and functional imaging center installed on the Orsay hospital site. With a medical service one side and a research and development on the other, the objective of this center is to create new imaging tools to improve the diagnosis and evaluation of innovative therapies.
